Weston International Award Presents: An Evening with Leslie Jamison

Writers' Trust is delighted to present Leslie Jamison live in conversation on Monday, September 15 at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto at a flagship event moderated by Marni Jackson.
Leslie Jamison’s impressive body of work places her at the heart of contemporary nonfiction. The acclaimed American author of The Recovering, The Empathy Exams, Make It Scream, Make It Burn, and The Gin Closet is a leading voice in contemporary nonfiction, with work in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, The New York Times, Harper’s, and more.

The event features a presentation from Jamison followed by an interview with Canadian author Marni Jackson, and a book signing. The authors will discuss the place of nonfiction writing in our world, the specificity and universality of storytelling, and the multifaceted nature of narrative. Copies of Jamison's books will be available for purchase, courtesy of Ben McNally Books.
Marni Jackson is a Canadian author of three nonfiction books and a novel. She has co-written a Dora Award-winning play, a docu-concert, and a documentary. Jackson has also served as the Rogers Chair of Literary Journalism program at the Banff Centre and was a juror for this year’s Weston International Award.
